Distinguished panel, Chapter Two of this project represents an extensive engagement with existing scholarship. I reviewed literature across three main areas to build a strong foundation for my study. Let me take you through this intellectual journey in about four lines, as requested.
- Agricultural Education
- Technology Integration
- Food Security
- Rural Development
- Diffusion of Innovation Theory (Rogers, 1962)
- Sustainable Livelihood Framework
- Systems Theory
- Technology Adoption Studies
- Food Security Outcomes
- Rural Development Indicators
- Barriers to Integration
🔑 KEY THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS
📢
Diffusion of Innovation Theory: Explains how new ideas and technologies spread within social systems—critical for understanding technology adoption patterns among farmers.
🌱
Sustainable Livelihood Framework: Analyzes how people achieve livelihoods using five assets—human, social, natural, physical, financial.
🔄
Systems Theory: Views agriculture as an interconnected system where changes in one component affect the whole.
The literature established that agricultural education is essential for building human and social capital required for technology adoption in rural contexts. Previous studies consistently show positive associations between education, technology adoption, and improved food security outcomes.
